Christmas Cards- the most Wonderful time of the year!
Its that time of year again! One of my favorite "chores" of the season is selecting the perfect picture to send out in our Christmas card. I like to find on that captures each of the kids personalities. This year I will gladly choose one of just the kids- I mean, who really wants to see Steve and I?! Kids are much cuter! I really like the cards from Shutterfly http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/christmas- photo-cards . The best thing about them is that you can write a little update inside the card. Much better than including an additional paper of updates! Plus, they have some very fun designs and creative ideas that are so much more than the standard photo card. Another fun and creative gift idea is their photo calendars http://www.shutterfly.com/calendars . Nana and Papa will love these! Such a great way to give a personable, practical gift. I also recently got a thank you card http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/thank-you- cards from Shutterfly and thought it was a really great way to say thanks. Very fun!

Today I woke up before the kids to go for a long run- gotta keep up with dad if we are going to run this half marathon in 4 weeks. My plan was to run 8 miles. When the kids woke up, Steve told them I was out for a long run - 8 miles. Kyle started in talking about how I was running higher than an airplane. Steve figured he was in some "other world" until Kyle made a comment about how airplanes fly at about 40,000 feet. He went on to explain to Steve that if I were running 8 miles straight UP, I would be higher than airplanes fly, because airplanes fly around 40,000 feet which is around 7 miles up in the air. Mommy was running 8 miles and that was just a little higher than 40,000 feet if she were running up into the air. Okay, so I hate to admit it, but I have no idea how many feet a mile is and would never do the math to figure it out if I did. This kid is scary...very, very scary.
